GUESS ECO: THE BRAND’S VISION FOR A CLEANER PLANET CONTINUES IN THE NEW FW23 CLOTHING COLLECTION

In line with the brand’s sustainability goals, and thanks to a wide range of ongoing environmental initiatives across the entire apparel collection, the 2023 Fall-Winter GUESS collection sees the introduction of four new textile technologies that are kinder to our oceans and planet: Warm Touch, Cashmere Edition, Stretch Selvedge and Tech Stretch.

Offered in a wide variety of cuts, from shape up, straight, boot cut and skinny, the Women’s denim collection presents Warm Touch, an ultra-comfy denim with a superior look and luxurious cashmere-feel, made to Jeanologia Environmental Impact Measurement (EIM) standards, a global standard that ensures cleaner, low-impact dying processes, a reduction in water and energy consumption and the use of harmful chemicals.

The Cashmere Edition is a new flared model in smooth, supple, highly elastic fabric, made from 5% cashmere and 2% stretch denim (73% “regular” cotton, 20% recycled cotton). Produced using certified and traceable recycled materials that ensure responsible social, environmental and chemical practices have been used during the production process and verifies the recycled content of products. The end result is a luxury ‘Sexy Flare’ jean, offered in two exclusive dark and light washes, with a super-soft brushed interior that feels deliciously soft and cozy on the skin.

The Men’s denim collection also sees the introduction of a new Cashmere Edition design, together with the Stretch Selvedge and Tech Stretch models. Just like the women’s collection, the Men’s Cashmere Edition range has a supple, high-elasticity construction made from precious cashmere and stretch fibers that have been responsibly sourced and dyed using eco-friendly processes.

Made with durability in mind, Stretch Selvedge is an upgraded take on the timeless selvedge denim favorite, with a relaxed fit and added stretch for enhanced comfort and wearability, created using eco-conscious fibers and dyeing process. Finally, fruit of leading-edge textile and planet-friendly technologies, Tech Stretch is a technical denim pant made from high-intensity smart fibers that move with the wearer and recover just as quickly, for ultimate comfort on the go.

As well as being part of the EIM and the Earth Feel Denim initiative, our GUESS ECO products are made using environmentally preferred materials, these are materials with a proven lower environmental impact compared to their conventional counterpart. Examples of environmentally preferred materials include organically grown cotton, cultivated on certified, responsible farms that work to improve soil health and reduce water and energy waste; and Lenzing™ Tencel™ and Modal fibres sourced from responsibly managed forests or upcycled cotton scraps from industry.

GUESS ECO products also avoid the use of harmful processes and embellishments and aim to use innovative production methods to reduce their environmental impact. Some areas of focus for innovative production include the use of advanced dying process (such as INDIGO FLOW), or wash processes, which use less raw materials and produce less waste.
